Parameter that indicates the reliability of a tsunami event in the past based on the assessment of the quality of available data on the generating cause, the description of the tsunami and contemporary bibliographic material (Tinti et al., 2004). From this indicator, the end user can assess the reliability of historical tsunamis for which little information is available. It ranges from 0 to 4:
0 : Very improbable tsunami
1 : Improbable tsunami
2 : Questionable tsunami
3 : Probable tsunami
4 : Definite tsunami
Those tsunamis with validity 0 and 1 are excluded from the catalogue.Letter code to specify the origin of the tsunami
